Exhibition Report
Ipswich
20th November 2004

Our third visit to the Ipswich Exhibition and a change of venue and date this year. Previous years have seen the exhibition over 2 days at the Northgate Leisure Centre. This year, as a result of escalating costs to hire the Northgate Leisure Centre, the Exhibition moved to the Coplestone School on the eastern side of Ipswich and was a 1 day affair. It proved to be as popular as in previous years.

OK, Hoof Hearted. Just before opening time. Aber Emlyn in 7mm. Aber Emlyn in 7mm.

We were joined by Lad491 for this exhibition, arriving in good time without the hassle of closed Motorways. Routes demonstrated included Thames Mersey, Stratford and Midland Junction, North West England, Cannock Chase, Severn Valley Railway, Bal Hub V4, MidEast and the Bridge Line.

Coley Park in 2mm. Emsley Beach in EM gauge. Witzenhausen HOe gauge. Alston in 3mm.

We were pleased to meet up with a number of UKTS members who joined us for chat and a yarn or three. Also an opportunity to meet up with some of the layout operators and trade stands we see at numerous other exhibitions.

Whitehill Cement Works in 7mm. Coley Park in 2mm. Bough Beech in 7mm. Moose Mountain in 3.5mm.

We would like to thank Lad491 for helping us demonstrate, to thank all the UKTS members who turned up to visit and chat at the exhibition and to Ken Welton (Exhibtion Manager) and the Ipswich Railway Modellers Association for the invitation and refreshments.
After 22 years as Exhibition Manager, Ken has retired and handed over the task to a team of 4 other members.
Congratulations and thanks to Ken for making the Ipswich Exhibition as good as it is over the last 22 years.
