Exhibition Report

Farnham & District MRC
Aldershot Exhibition
13th - 14th October 2007

Friday 12th October, launch day for EA Rail Simulator saw Cab-It and I doing the initial setup during the evening in preparation for the number of visitors we may receive over the weekend to the stand.

This was a busy exhibition over both days with numbers up on previous years. As always the layouts attending were very good. It was nice to see the Bing Table Top railway demo layout and the Trix Twin Railway demo layout. Both of which attracted a lot of attention, especially amongst the older generation. Trade support and demonstrations added to the quality of the exhibition overall.

The DCC Workshop was kept very busy over the two days answering a multitude of questions on various aspects of DCC and it's use. One visitor brought along a Bachmann Class 25 that used to work but had failed. The problem was traced to trapped wires between the body and chassis causing a short. Carefully separated, taped up and laid on the top of the chassis and the Class 25 was running again.

We were ably assisted over the weekend by LAD491, dkightley (complete with bad cold and cough), partyspiritz (with two monitors and raildriver) and not forgetting Matt with his dose of flu. Numerous UKTS members dropped by for a chat about EA Rail Sim and to see it first hand for themselves. All four of the EA RailSim routes were given a good airing and the product was generally well received.

Our thanks to Noel Leaver and the Farnham & District MRC for the invitation, location and refreshments.
Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
Thanks to the Frimley Lodge Miniature Railway for providing the outside rides.
