Friday afternoon arrival for setup amidst squally showers, Ugh!, fortunately nothing got too wet before we were all setup.
We were joined by RobertM, fresh from Kew (doing the touristy thing) and heading back to the hotel by 4pm. We were located
in the West Hall this year, considerably darker hall and warmer as well. Nice setting.
The Model Railway Club celebrate their 100th Anniversary this year and a number of the club layouts were out on display including
Copenhagen Fields, Happisburgh, New Sherwood Junction, Minories, Putnam Yard and Centenary Park Square.
Saturday morning saw us joined by easilyconfused with Bronwyn, Atomicdanny and DDPOTTER in addition to the crew already here.
During the weekend we were also visited by a number of UKTS members including bharrison and RSAdam.
With the Talyllyn Railway (soon to be released) and Phorum Peninsular (released friday) both available for demo, these two
new RailWorks routes were given plenty of show time. Chris Youngs latest addition to BrisCard (now at V4) as far as Swindon
was also given several outings over the weekend showing off the new section.
The 4 photographs immediately above are from the Kendal MRC / Keighley MRC joint layout which in O gauge is impressive.
It is 3 layouts joined together, Rushen Valley, Mill Street and Coverdale.
Despite not having the DCC Workshop in attendance at these BRM organised events, it doesn't deter visitors from asking questions
about DCC in general, wiring, upgrading, chipping locos etc, etc. It is always interesting to hear some of the tales of woe that
visitors relate to us, what they are doing and how they are going about it. It is equally interesting to hear some of the "my
mate said" anecdotal stories.
Our thanks to the BRM Exhibition Team, Ian, Sam, Sally and Deb (the newbie) for the invitation, the refreshments and the location.
Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat
and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
Special thanks also to the crew who help break down the stand and help load the car at the end. Very much appreciated.
