A return visit to the Basildon MRC Exhibition in Laindon, Essex with setup on Friday evening with the help of John and Bronwyn.
An early start and setup was finalised on the Saturday morning with tables now in place and help from RobertM. Danny had arrived
with his trains earlier so the DCC Workshop was up and running shortly afterwards.
A hot weekend with all doors and windows open at the school to allow a modicum of breeze through the hall.
RailWorks, MSTS and Open Rails all had a good showing over the weekend to the delight of all those who visited.
The last two photos above show the Basildon MRC new N gauge layout under construction. The first shows the plan of
what goes where and the second is the current WIP state of the layout. Almost fully operational already.
We were joined by RobertM, CodriverMike, Easilyconfused, Bronwyn, DDPOTTER and Danny over the weekend.
A number of UKTS members visited the stand over the weekend and had an opportunity to see and chat all things RailWorks,
MSTS and OpenRails. There was a steady flow of visitors to the show who stopped by for a chat. The DCC Workshop was kept busy as
always chatting and resolving visitors DCC issues. One unfortunate layout had a system failure late saturday afternoon and
we thus lent them our Hornby Elite for the Sunday for which they were very grateful.
A very good exhibition. Quality layouts, a good selection of traders and plenty to see and buy for everyone including some nice deals for members of the UKTS crew. The Deltic Preservation Society in attendance, as always, were selling copies of RailWorks for those that wished to purchase it.
Layouts4U (Bob and Sue) are selling there N gauge demonstration layout (Elwyn), see last years Basildon Report videos, if
anybody is interested.
Our thanks to the Basildon Model Railway Club for the invitation, refreshments and location.
Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat
and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
We hope to see you all again next year, 2nd/3rd July 2011.
