Exhibition Report

Brighton 18th to 20th February 2005

Apart from the freezing cold weather it was a cracking weekend in Brighton. Three whole days of Brighton Model World. Just about everything you could expect from a range of modelling skills. From the smallest gauge model railways to large scale (5") model engineering; model cars, boats and trucks; robotwars; and even some daleks. With plenty of good trader support it was an excellent weekend.

Neutronic, Lad491 and Leviathan1949 just before official opening time. Neutronic and Lad491 meet the Daleks. Invasion of the Daleks. Matt meets Bob Symes.

Once again we had one screen running a new video from Train Artisan showing some of the capabilities of the their new TA Railways product.
We also demonstrated Bala Hub, North West England, Skipton Carlisle 1920, MidEast, Yorkshire Coast, Cannock Chase, Blackpool Tramway and on the Saturday we were joined by Dave Corfield who ably demonstrated his latest updates to Thames Mersey.

Three very different sections of the Modular layout in 2mm. Peterstown Tramways in 7mm. Peterstown Tramways in 7mm. Peterstown Tramways in 7mm.

We were joined for the three days by Lad491 who had always wanted a photograph taken of himself with a Dalek. We obliged. As an avid Dr Who fan we got Matt in on the act as well, top line second photo.
Matt was also very pleased to meet up with his Tomorrows World / Model Railway hero Bob Symes, top line last photo.

The Travelling Garden Railway in G Gauge. Abbey Road - London Underground in 4mm. Kingswear in 2mm. Another 2 sections of the modular layout in 2mm.

There were also some excellent tram layouts at the exhibition, I'm sure Terry and Doug plus other tram people would have enjoyed.
And for the second time on the exhibition circuit we met up with a group who had built a modular layout. You may recall this is a layout where individuals each build a section of maybe 4 to 6 feet long with each module having a 2, 3 or 4 track line running along the front so that all modules can be linked together. Line 2 photo 1 clearly shows that these modellers have modelled different countries yet still have the ability to join all the modules into a single layout for exhibition purposes.

Pagham Harbour, a narrow gauge model somewhere on the South Coast. Two more sections of the Modular layout. Kings Park in 2mm. Littlewood - Modern image layout in 2mm - semi automatic operation.

We would like to thank the Brighton Model World organisation team for the invitation to attend and look forward to meeting you all again next year.
