We were joined on Saturday by Doug and Lad491 and additionally by Saddletank on the Sunday. In order to further discuss the Gowin to Knowear Project, Doug and Saddletank purloined an extra table and set up alongside the main demonstration tables. One of the layout operators wanted to chat about Tehachapi, so he spent a period of time chatting with Saddletank and saw the Raildriver in action.

One of the niceties of the Colchester Exhibition is that instead of a Thomas layout for the children to have a go, here they set up a G gauge layout in the refectory and simply ask for donations to the local hospice. Micronic (Matts lad Cameron) was overjoyed with this layout and hijacked it for a while. He even convinced his Nanna to take the LGB Bubble Truck on Sunday so everybody could have bubbles whilst they drove the train. Hilariously some of the children drove the train round once and then stopped it to play with the bubbles. TeeHee!!!!

As always a first class exhibition with layouts in all gauges and flavours, UK, European, American etc. Excellent trade support and numerous demonstration stands - stock building, layout building etc. I also had the great pleasure of meeting one of the elder masters of Railway Modelling at this exhibition in the guise of Cyril J Freezer.

All in all a brilliant weekend. Our sincere thanks to all that showed up to help or chat and to the Colchester MRC members for the invitation, refreshments and another excellent exhibition. We hope to see you all again next year. Note from the organisers, the 2006 Colchester Exhibition has been slipped 1 week to the first weekend in November on the 4th and 5th November 2006.
