From January 2007, in addition to our train simulator demonstration stand we can offer a DCC Workshop stand to operate alongside or adjacent to the main stand.

There’s still a lot of confusion about DCC and what it can and can’t do, what the benefits and pitfalls are and so forth. With DCC becoming more and more mainstream this confusion is only going to spread further and our aim is to try and clear some of that mist, as well as provide a place for people to come and ask us questions and find out if DCC is going to be right for them. As part of our demonstrations we’d like to talk to people about all the different systems that are available, what their choices are, compatibility between systems, computer control and so forth. There’s a lot to choose from and that selection is rapidly growing.

What else do we offer?

Firstly we are NOT a trade stand, we do not manufacture, distribute or retail DCC systems so the information we will impart to visitors will be unbiased and impartial and based on our own experience over the last seven years with homegrown and commercial systems.

We would aim to give out free manufacturers leaflets and our own notes to help assist visitors to come to their own informed decision on whether DCC is for them or not and which system will DO what they want to do on THEIR layout.

Requirements

The DCC Workshop stand requires a minimum frontage of 6 feet to demonstrate on 2 tables. We would also request that the stand be alongside or adjacent to our main simulation stand. We will require 2 tables and 2 chairs for equipment and 1 off 13 Amp Power outlet.

At what cost?

We make no charge for travelling expenses, all we ask is that we be provided with free beverages (tea or coffee) and meals during the exhibition for the 2 operators.
