A welcome return to the Doncaster Racecourse venue for the Festival of British Railway Modelling 2011. We were last at this
venue in 2005 prior to the closure of the Racecourse for refurbishment. The exhibition moved to Harrogate but was on the
same weekend as Brighton, so we were unable to attend. In 2008, the date changed to the end of January and we attended.
Cab-It and I arrived friday afternoon to do the majority of the setup and then tootled off to the hotel for a meal and relax.
Saturday morning saw us joined by RobertM, Danny3, DDPOTTER, King125, nobkins and Wolly1380. Peter38 (Market Deeping Model Railway Club)
also joined us on the Sunday afternoon for chance to drive on the MSTS Somerset and Dorset route, to be released on DVD soon.
NO DCC Workshop at these BRM shows as they provide there own demos and lectures on all matters DCC. Visitors know us and still ask
questions. Plenty of opportunity at this show for those not into RailWorks yet, we had 30 DVDs of Railworks with time limited codes
for people to take away and use the full product for up to 9 days. We also had 30 demo codes for Doncaster Works so that again
people could download the product and try it for 9 days. Esthwaite Branch is still moving forward and we are grateful to some of the
Tranpennine team (nobkins and wolly1380) for bringing along the Transpennine route for demonstration. Doncaster Works was run several
times to the delight of many with the Deltic Fleet being shunted for scrap. MSTS North Wales Coast, East Coast Mainline and the
Somerset and Dorset were also on show over the weekend.
Our thanks to Sam, Ian and Sally and the BRM Exhibition Group for the invitation, the refreshments and the location.
Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat
and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
Special thanks also to the crew who help break down the stand and help load the car at the end.
