Our first visit to the Solent Model Railway Group Exhibition in the Fleming Park Leisure Centre in Eastleigh. Easy access from the M23 and M27 and
single level access for visitors to the show made for a good venue. Cab-It and I arrived Friday evening around 7pm to setup and then back to the hotel.
Doug and Matt arrived during the evening and Terry and Patty DROPPED in shortly after midnight.
The exhibition was contained within one large room in the leisure centre. As this is Eurotrack 2009, the layouts were from far and wide within the
European Community as well as layouts representing UK, Europe and the US. Everything from Z gauge up to G gauge, with a good range of traders
and willing demonstrators, something for everyone. Saturday was by far the busier day, Sunday was marginally quieter. Rough gate was 1700.
TrainSim demos included North Wales Coast, now nearing completion, Black Country, Bristol Carmarthen, Dorset Coast V6 and BalaHub 4.2, now in final
beta testing prior to release. RailSim demos included South Devon Bank and a prerelease viewing of The Bluebell Railway.
We were joined over the weekend by dkightley, easilyconfused, justinn2, king125, queen125, atomicdanny, ccsdc, LAD491, tubemad, partyspiritz,
codrivermike, David Wiseman and a few others whose names I missed.
The photographs on this page and the larger ones they link to are much smaller than the full size originals which are 3072 x 2304
and around 1.2Mb each. If you would like a full size copy then please email our support desk support@uktrainsim.com.
Our thanks to Ian How and the Solent Model Railway Group for the invitation, the refreshments and the location.
Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat
and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
Thanks also to Cheltenham Model Centre for the loan of the Hornby Class 60 (with sound) and Hornby Class 56 (with sound) for demonstration
on the DCC Workshop layout. Final thanks to Ron Lines (and Roger) for the loan of the Digitrax Dash 9 SoundFX loco for demonstration.
