Exhibition Report

Hoddesdon
12th July 2008

Our two yearly visit to Sheredes School in Hoddesdon saw an early start with dark, overcast skies and rain. Relatively light traffic at this hour of the morning meant that our arrival was almost spot on time at around 7.25am. Shortly followed by Laurie and soon after that, Doug arrived. This is a one day exhibition and as always some good layouts, good traders and some good demonstrations.

There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day. As always, some visitors had not seen TrainSim or RailSim before and were in awe at what they were seeing. One gent sat with us on the stand for at least 90 minutes, looking at various routes, having a go with the raildriver console and thoroughly enjoying himself. The DCC Workshop was in attendance and numerous questions were asked and resolved. More myths were quoted and dispelled. Amazing what you can read about on this Interwebby thing that everybody talks about these days.

Our thanks to Joe Lock and the Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club for the invitation, the refreshments and the location. Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
