Our second visit to the Crawley MRS Exhibition held in Horsham. Located in the same place as last year,
next to the club second-hand stall in the furthest corner from the entrance. A good location which we
make the most of. You may recall from last years visit, a young lad named Ryan (the offspring of one
of the traders), he was there again, only this time under strict instructions from his Dad not to
spend more than one hour at a time with us and he still didn't bring his glasses.
One major hiccup at setup time was that Neutronic's shuttle died most unspectacularly. Random rubbish on
the screen at boot time and MSTS just blue screened the machine. Fortunately Laurie (Lad491) had brought his
new laptop with him and we put that machine through it's paces over the two day show.
North West England V2 and Cannock Chase V4 were prominent in our demonstration, but we still had time for
MidEast, Woodhead, London-Brighton, Skipton 1920 and Delaware & Hudson. With an American layout not 10 feet
away we had to do it..
By mid afternoon we were beginning to wonder if the local population had found something better to do as
the number of visitors seemed well down on the previous year. We were assured at close of play that the
door count had only been 40 down on last year. Sunday was busier and overall the exhibition went well.
A wide variety of layouts, American Desert in 'N' Gauge, several layouts in 'OO' Gauge, one layout in
'G' Gauge and another 'G' Gauge setup on the floor. A good selection of traders and the clubs own
secondhand stall completed the exhibition.
Special thanks to Laurie (Lad491) for helping us on both days, complete with his laptop. It was also nice to meet
up with Senileus for the first time, great to see you.
Our thanks to the Crawley MRS for the invitation to attend and the excellent refreshments, to the UKTS people
who either helped us or just came to visit over the weekend and to the visitors who joined us.
Finally a big thank you to the creators of the routes and models who make UKTrainSimLive and the whole
UKTrainSim community what it is today. THANKS.
