Our first exhibition of the year is the Leamington & Warwick MRS Exhibition held
at Myton School, Myton Road, Warwick. We were located in a classroom adjacent to the Main Entrance
with the Historical Model Railway Society (HMRS). This is a good location as it provides plenty
of space for the main UKTS stand and for the DCC Workshop and for a few chairs for visitors.
A number of UKTS members in attendance as demonstrators and those who came along to chat and learn more.
Staxtrax, King125, 250787, dougkightley, partyspritz, damian2, RobertM, steamnut44, easilyconfused, bronwyn,
to name just some of the attendees.
The DCC Workshop stand, with its N gauge board, attracted a large number of visitors discussing and chatting
about various problems, controllers, chipping locos, points, signals, needs, requirements, pitfalls etc etc.
Unlike our last visit to Warwick when Microsoft announced a new Simulator, this year we had the new EA Rail Simulator to demo along with some
of the community produced reskins, routes, locos and wagons etc. We still await the first patch from Rail Simulator, due out later this month.
This exhibition is always well balanced with a good selection of layouts in a variety of scales, suitably spread
around the school. One interesting layout is the double sided American layout of Beaver Creek and Indian River.
See the second line of Photos above for Two layouts for the price of one. Ingenious idea.
Despite the launch of the Bachmann Dynamis before Christmas, they are in extremely short supply and none
were available at the show. The Dapol 9F is now available in plentiful supply.
We would like to thank easilyconfused (John Lewis) for bringing along his own Dynamis set up for us to use
and demonstrate with. Johns Dynamis will also be at Brighton for the Friday only, so if you want to see
it in action then make sure you come to Brighton Model World on the FRIDAY.
A good selection of traders were also in attendance providing RTR, new and secondhand and spare parts,
tools, electrical items, books, magazines, DVD's etc etc.
The link below is a short movie taken at the exhibition of the Lionel "O" gauge system.
A large file about 30Mb, so you are advised to right click and save as. Then play it
from your own PC.
Our thanks to all the UKTS members who joined us during the exhibition demonstrating and chatting and to the
large number of visitors who dropped by for a chat either trainsim or DCC.
We would like to thank the Leamington & Warwick MRS for the invitation to the exhibition and for the
refreshments and the warm welcome we received. We hope to see you all again next year.
