Another visit to Etonbury Middle School, Arlesey for the 25th Letchworth MRC Exhibition. Another damp and blustery morning
saw us on the road at 6am with an arrival around 7.30am. Unloaded and setup just before 9am. An early opportunity to have
a look at the other exhibits and traders plus the CLUB secondhand stall. Like the Royston show the previous weekend,
this exhibition is in two halls and a myriad of classrooms. Everything nicely packed in with plenty of variety for
modellers of all gauges and scales.
We were joined over the weekend by LAD491 (nice to see you back Laurie after your hospital visitation), dkightley (Doug), partyspiritz (John),
acorncomputer (Geoff) and coolcats1992 (Sean). There were numerous UKTS members visited the stand over the weekend to chat all
things trainsim, railsim and railworks plus a large number of the visiting public dropped in for a chat and some for a brief drive.
The RailWorks Route Building Challenge now over and the judging in progress, Geoff had brought along the routes for all to see.
Having seen them first hand I was amazed at the effort that has gone into these routes and the results are outstanding.
Judging these routes (all 8 of them) is not going to be an easy task.
With the large sprawling space available, the layouts were top notch in most gauges and scales. Plenty of traders selling everything from
tiny LEDs to DVDs, to Gauge O kit locos and almost everything in between. AlbanRail where there as always with there G gauge trade stand
showing some of the American Narrow Gauge locos currently available. Plenty of opportunity here also for those into European modelling
with a number of traders selling European locos and stock and a few European layouts.
Our thanks to David Coates (and Lynda) for the invitation, the refreshments and the location.
Our thanks to all those that gave of their time to help us demonstrating, to those who dropped by for a chat
and to the members of the public who visited the exhibition over the weekend.
