Our first exhibition in Romford and would have been a home exhibition for Matt had he not been flying home from Australia. Held in the
Marshalls Park School, Pettits Lane South, Romford, Essex the exhibition was spread over two large rooms. An interesting selection of
layouts and trade stands and nice to see our DCC colleague from ZTC in attendance again.
It was NOT a good weekend for travellers around London as part of the southern M25 and M26 were closed after a serious accident. Evidenced
by Lad491 who had planned to arrive at 8am and finally arrived at around 11am (Not a pleasant journey).
We were well placed on the back wall of one of the large rooms with plenty of space for all our needs. We received many interested visitors
keen to see what was new in the world of Train Simulation, many of whom went away happily with their free cd's. Routes on demonstration included
Thames Mersey, Cannock Chase, North West England, MidEast, Severn Valley Railway, Highworth, Bala Hub V4 and The Bridge Line.
Three layouts in attendance worth a mention. Probably the worlds smallest 'HO' gauge model railway: Walmington Pier Tramway (Photo 3 on
the top line), just 4 feet long and 1 foot wide. The Romford MRS 7mm gauge test track, bring your locos and try them here. Probably the
worlds largest Thomas and friends layout (Photo 3 second line), still a work in progress but should be finished soon.
We would like to thank Lad491 who turned up to help and demonstrate at the exhibition (despite the appalling journey), to UKTS members
who visited for a chat and advice and to Mike Clarke (Exhibition Manager) of the Romford MRS for the invitation and refreshments.
