Exhibition Report

Southend
25th & 26th November 2006

Our first visit to the Southend Exhibition organised by the Shoeburyness MRC. Located in a large hall to one side of the Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre. Lots of room for layouts, traders, demonstrations and cafeteria area. Also plenty of aisle space between the layouts, tradestands etc.

We were located on the back wall with a fairly large space in front of the stand. During the course of the weekend a large number of UKTS members and visitors came to chat all things TrainSim and various other sims. This being a Model Railway and Hobbies Exhibition we showed TrainSim, FlightSim, TruckSim and ShipSim.

We were joined over the weekend by Laurie (LAD491) and Doug Kightley. Other members who dropped by included ca55ie (Sam) whom we haven't seen since Romford 2005.
Layouts ranged from Z gauge to O gauge; 16mm Radio Controlled Live Steam narrow gauge; 5 inch and 7.25 inch model engineering masterpieces. Ride on train rides were also provided in the centre of the hall.

Our thanks to the Shoeburyness MRC for the invitation, the refreshments and making us welcome. Thanks to Laurie and Doug who joined us to help unload / load and demonstrate; to UKTS members and members of the public who visited us for a chat.
